Failed Sunset Photography turns into Nightscape Adventure

When life gives you lemons, shoot the Milky Way.

My plan was to head into the mountains for some awesome sunset photography, but that plan didn't work. At all.

Instead, I hung around Washington Pass to attempt to make the photo I had in mind the last time I visited this spot. Oh, and I get a bit loopy and start waxing philosophical about doing the hard things and one (of the many) reasons why Autumn is my favorite time of year.
