Dry Falls Moody Sunrise Panorama Print

The process to create these prints uses a time-honored classic method - exposing the image on light-sensitive paper (i.e. no printers used for these prints!) - but the process has been updated and refined. The exposure process avoids halftones, meaning you will not see colored dots even when viewing your print up close and it uses a solid-state laser to expose the paper while keeping the paper perfectly flat and climate-controlled the whole time.

This ultraHD Photo Print uses Fuji Crystal Professional Archive Maxima paper which results in some of the most detail-rich, high resolution, and razor-sharp prints you can get your hands on. This paper represents high dynamic ranges and extreme lighting conditions more faithfully by increasing the maximum density by over 10% (deeper blacks and finer details), allows for 21% more color space volume than traditional prints for more saturated and vivid colors, and offers increased light resistance for longer-lasting color.

All this is to say that once you hold this print, you may find that it permanently ruins you from looking at images on a computer screen!

I rolled out of bed (my SUV in this particular case) without even being caffeinated yet to make sure I caught this location at sunrise!

At first, the cloud cover seemed too thick, and just as I was beginning to worry that I slept uncomfortably in my vehicle for no reason, the sun broke through under the clouds at the southeast edge of the coulee. Suddenly, the scramble was on to get everything captured in time!

I HAD to go panoramic with this image in an attempt to even begin to do this location justice. When you stand at the edge and look down, your brain can’t quite grasp how immense this spot is, your eyes have a bit of trouble figuring out where to focus, and it makes you a bit dizzy at first.

To give you a sense of the scale, I later ventured down into the valley to explore for a while after the sun finished rising. It took me just under 15 minutes to drive down a dirt road from the right side of this image to the lake on the left side. From the vantage point where I captured this image to the other side is approximately 3.5 miles.

Ultimately, it took 17 images to put together this wide view. And a nap, of course ;)

Your paper print will be packaged in a tube for protection. Upon delivery, prints should be left to rest and flatten out.

Note that this print is high gloss. To handle the print, be vigilant to use lint-free gloves, as fingerprints WILL show up at the corners or in dark, shadowed regions.

If you choose the white border option, it will be 0.79 inches on all prints except for the 12” x 4” size, which will have a 0.39 inch border.
